Job Description UW Health in northern Illinois:
Primary Care – Family Medicine in Rural Clinic Setting
UW Health in northern Illinois seeks a BE/BC Family Medicine Physician to join one of our close-knit rural communities while benefiting from the resources and support of Swedish American Medical Group and UW Health. For more than a century, our community-based health system has worked to build stronger, healthier communities throughout northern Illinois. As a rural Family Medicine Physician, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health of the community you serve while building lasting relationships with your patients and their families.
Our rural clinics offer the best of both worlds: the rewarding feel of practicing in a smaller, community-focused setting with the support, resources and specialty access of a large, integrated health system. You will have the opportunity to develop a practice that aligns with your professional goals, clinical interests and preferred practice style. Whether you have an established niche or are looking to develop a new area of interest, we provide the flexibility and support to help you grow your practice over time.
Join a practice where you can become an important part of the community — caring for generations of families, developing meaningful patient relationships and enjoying the collegial, personal feel of rural medicine — all while having access to more than 370 employed providers and a broad network of specialists across northern Illinois.
- Flexibility to build your practice around your interests — opportunities to develop a clinical niche or grow into an area of special interest while continuing to provide comprehensive family medicine care
- Flexible scheduling with full- and part-time practice options designed to support work-life balance
- No Saturday clinics, providing predictable time away from the practice
- Dedicated support staff and an experienced care team to help you focus on patient care

- Full-service academic hospital support, including UW Health Women and Children’s Hospital and UW Health Heart Hospital
- Excellent tertiary specialty support from University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health
- As a teaching hospital, academic and teaching appointments are available with the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, providing opportunities to work with medical students and family medicine residents
