Through education, clinical pathways, consultation, and collaborative care models, the Onco Generalist will build survivorship capacity across the Inova Health System, ensuring that cancer survivors receive high-quality care close to home while maintaining access to specialty expertise when needed.
The long-term vision is a tiered survivorship model in which patients receive specialized survivorship care during the immediate post-treatment period and are subsequently transitioned to appropriately trained primary care providers for ongoing management.
