Summary
The Dean of Transfer and Adult Education is a senior administrative leader who reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. This position provides strategic vision and leadership for academic transfer, adult education. The Dean collaborates with faculty, administrators, and community stakeholders to promote academic excellence, increase enrollment and student success, and ensure equitable outcomes for a diverse student population. Key responsibilities include advancing the College's mission through the development and expansion of high-quality credit, non-credit, and dual credit career pathways, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Essential Duties or Responsibilities

* Leadership and Strategic Oversight
* Provides vision and leadership in the development, implementation, and assessment of academic transfer, adult education.
* Directs the expansion of credit, non-credit, and dual credit career pathways aligned with the College's strategic goals.
* Develops innovative initiatives that remove institutional barriers, promote student engagement, and enhance teaching and learning.
* Academic and Program Administration
* Coordinates instructional scheduling for academic, adult education.
* Ensures all full-time, adjunct, and dual credit faculty are academically and professionally qualified.
* Oversees curriculum development and ensures adherence to standards set by the Curriculum and Instruction Committee, ICCB, HLC, and IBHE.
* Collaborates with faculty and college leadership to support curricular changes, advising, facilities use, and instructional resource needs.
* Personnel Management and Development
* Supervises faculty, academic professionals, and support staff within the division.
* Conducts evaluations, establishes professional development goals, and administers performance management, including discipline and dismissal when necessary.
* Establishes and refines departmental procedures to enhance efficiency and program effectiveness.
* Budget and Grant Oversight
* Leads the development and management of budgets for assigned areas.
* Maintains oversight of grant administration, including Adult Education ensuring compliance with reporting, expenditure, and regulatory requirements.
* Pursues local, state, and federal funding opportunities to support program growth and innovation.
* Community and Educational Partnerships
* Maintains positive, collaborative relationships with high schools, regional partners, colleges, and universities.
* Develops and maintains articulation agreements to support seamless student transfer to four-year institutions.
* Engages with community organizations to expand outreach and adult basic education opportunities within the College district.
* Student Support and Academic Quality
* Resolves student concerns related to courses, instructors, and grade appeals following institutional policies.
* Facilitates student transitions from adult basic education, GED, and training programs into high-demand career pathways.
* Demonstrated experience managing budgets, grant administration, and cultivating community and industry partnerships.
* Ensures high-quality, equitable academic experiences that foster student success and retention across all areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
* Master's degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
* Minimum of three years of experience in academic leadership or administration, higher education, faculty supervision, accreditation, and curriculum development.
* Demonstrated experience in managing budgets, grant administration, accreditation processes, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Comprehensive knowledge of academic transfer programs, adult education, and dual credit/high school partnership models.
* Strong understanding of accreditation standards and curriculum development processes in a community college setting.
* Ability to lead diverse teams, manage change, and foster a culture of collaboration, equity, and continuous improvement.
* Skilled in data analysis and strategic planning to support student success, enrollment growth, and program evaluation.
* Effective communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills to engage internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in budget management, grant oversight, and aligning resources with institutional priorities.
* Familiarity with dual credit, non-credit, and career pathway programming.
* Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and student-centered practices that support access, equity, retention, and completion.
