Duties

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership

* Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional practices aligned with state standards and district priorities

* Supervise, support, and evaluate certified and non-certified staff in accordance with district procedures and PERA

* Use multiple data sources to guide instructional decisions and monitor student progress

* Support curriculum alignment and effective transitions across grade levels

School Climate and Student Support

* Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment

* Implement and monitor student behavior, attendance, and social-emotional learning supports

* Collaborate with MTSS/RtI teams, special education staff, and student support services

Staff Leadership and Development

* Provide instructional leadership through supervision, evaluation, and timely, constructive feedback

* Foster a collaborative professional culture that promotes reflection, shared leadership, and accountability

* Support high-quality professional learning aligned with district goals and student needs

Staff Supervision and Operations

* Participate in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and retention of staff

* Manage daily building operations, schedules, and supervision duties

* Assist with budget development and building-level fiscal oversight

* Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements

Family and Community Engagement

* Build positive relationships with families and community partners

* Communicate effectively and transparently using multiple platforms

* Represent the school at district and community events

Qualifications

Qualifications

* Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Administrative Endorsement

* Master's degree in Educational Leadership or a related field required

* Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience; administrative experience preferred

* Strong knowledge of elementary and junior high instructional practices

* Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, reflective practice, and ongoing professional learning

* Commitment to fostering equitable practices, strong relationships, and a positive school culture

Salary/Benefits

Contract Length: 205-day administrative contract

Compensation:
Board-paid TRS; salary commensurate with experience

The Principal provides instructional and administrative leadership for grades K-8, promoting a safe, inclusive, and high-achieving learning environment.
