Coordinator of Learning Innovation

Summary Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Coordinator leads the development and implementation of innovative curriculum initiatives, including competency-based education and the integration of emerging technologies. This position collaborates closely with faculty, administrators, and the IT Department to foster a culture of continuous improvement and support a dynamic, future-focused learning environment. * Leadership & Strategic Vision *

Foster a supportive college culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through teamwork, accountability, communication, and shared vision.
* Provide strategic leadership in the integration of technology and innovative curriculum across academic programs.
* Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of technology-driven educational initiatives.
* Guide the development and implementation of distance learning offerings across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and instructional best practices.
* Coordinate and communicate administrative directives throughout all phases of project development and execution.
* Instructional Technology Integration *

• Provide primary support and troubleshooting for distance learning classroom technologies to ensure reliable, high-quality instructional delivery for in-person, hybrid, and remote learning environments.
  * Develop and execute a strategic vision for the integration of educational technologies, including AI, VR, and AR, into teaching and learning environments.
  * Collaborate with the Director of Information Technology to align technological advancements with institutional objectives.
  * Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative tools and methodologies to enhance instructional delivery and learning outcomes.
  * Stay current with global trends in educational technology to ensure continued relevance and innovation.
  * Curriculum Development & Support *
• Partner with faculty to design interactive, engaging, and personalized learning experiences.
  * Oversee the creation and curation of high-quality digital content and curricular resources.
  * Conduct curriculum research to determine the need for new materials, technologies, or instructional approaches to support evolving learning models.
  * Ensure new and revised academic programs align with labor market needs and industry standards.
  * Professional Development & Capacity Building *
• Design and implement comprehensive training programs for faculty and staff on emerging technologies and instructional strategies, including LMS platforms, course evaluation tools, and digital curriculum design systems.
  * Mentor and support faculty in effective technology integration and pedagogy.
  * Cultivate a culture of innovation by encouraging the adoption of new tools, methods, and instructional approaches.
  * Compliance & Continuous Improvement *
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, institutional policies, grant requirements, and accreditation standards (e.g., ICCB, HLC).
  * Support institutional and programmatic accreditation efforts related to curriculum and instruction.
  * Conduct assessments of educational technology initiatives, using data to inform planning, improve effectiveness, and guide future investments.
  * Engage in the College's shared governance process to review and enhance policies, procedures, and practices aligned with best practices.
  * Institutional Engagement *
• Collaborate across departments and divisions to ensure coordinated implementation of strategic initiatives.
  * Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, reporting, and related research activities as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
  * Represent the department on institutional committees and task forces as assigned. Qualifications
  * Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field.
  * Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and the integration of emerging technologies in educational settings.
  * Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with faculty, IT, and administration on academic or technology-driven initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  * Strong knowledge of instructional technology tools and platforms, including learning management systems (LMS), AI, AR/VR applications, and digital content creation tools.
  * Ability to lead and support strategic initiatives in curriculum innovation and technology integration.
