Lake Forest Elementary School District 67 is seeking a Long-Term Substitute School Psychologist at Deer Path Middle School from approximately March 16, 2026 to June 5, 2026.

Description

The School Psychologist works in a leadership role to support the success of students academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally as a member of the school community. In this role the school psychologist collaborates with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community for all students. The school psychologist identifies and assesses the learning and development needs for individuals and groups, as well as the environmental factors that affect learning and social‑emotional growth.

The school psychologist provides interventions to students to support the learning process and maximize student growth socially and academically. The school psychologist assists in the planning, development and evaluation of programs to meet identified learning and social‑emotional needs. The school psychologist delivers a planned and coordinated program of psychological services.

Salary & Benefits
  • Starting rate: $299.84/Day

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Licensure (required and preferred)

  • A current Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist endorsement
  • Experience with 504/IEP writing and implementation preferred
  • Knowledgeable of RtI/MTSS – academic, social, behavioral, and emotional supports
  • Experience with administering and understanding psycho educational assessments
  • Experience collaborating with outside social service agencies and supports
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Understanding of the continuum of services
  • Ability to initiate and complete work without an inordinate amount of supervision and director
  • Effective and efficient communicator
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite, Google Apps for Education, online testing platforms, and school-based processing and management systems
  • 10 month position, with up to 10 additional days (paid at per diem rate) as determined by Principal/Director of Student Services
Essential Functions
  • Serves as a member of Student Services Department
  • Supports 504s through evaluation, case management and implementation
  • Supports the Intervention Planning Team
  • Participates in IEP meetings and completes IEP documentation as needed
  • Participates in the Child Find process and conducts special education initial evaluations and reevaluations
  • Conducts file reviews
  • Engages in consultative support and intervention planning
  • Assists with progress monitoring focused on student growth
  • Provides consultation and training for faculty and administrators (general and special education)
  • Conducts FBAs
  • Supports the creation, revision, and implementation of BIPs
  • Facilitates direct service group and individual counseling for students with IEP’s, 504’s, and in the general education setting
  • Supports students in various school-based programs in special education and general education as determined
  • Maintains timely communication with the necessary stakeholder groups
  • Collects data and reports program outcomes
  • Participates in department and school‑wide meetings
  • Engages in ongoing professional growth and development
  • Supports district‑wide articulation efforts
  • Provides individual and group counseling
  • Serves as a member of the Crisis Intervention Team
  • Supervises School Psychologist Interns and Practicum students
  • Serves on related committees as determined
  • Attends and participates in required professional learning
  • Identify and utilize appropriate tools and methods for assessment and evaluations
  • Maintains a professional demeanor and respects confidentiality when handling sensitive matters
  • Utilizes various students information and data systems to conduct
