We are seeking a full‑time foreign language teacher at the Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico 6-12 Campus.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Valid Illinois teaching certificate
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
Reports To:
Building Principal
To create a dynamic learning environment that promotes student engagement, academic growth, and social development. Provide effective instruction and assessment based on the district curriculum and educational standards.
Performance Responsibilities Instructional Leadership- Plan and deliver lessons that align with district curriculum and educational standards.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student learning and well‑being.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to meet individual needs.
- Promote critical thinking, problem‑solving, and inquiry‑based learning.
- Integrate technology and other innovative tools to enhance instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement instructional strategies.
- Foster a supportive and respectful classroom culture that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Set clear expectations for behavior and academic performance.
- Provide guidance and support to students as needed.
- Encourage student engagement and active participation in class activities.
- Recognize and celebrate student achievements.
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments to gauge student understanding and progress.
- Analyze assessment results to inform instructional planning and differentiation.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their work.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in parent‑teacher conferences and other school events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education.
- Reflect on teaching practices and seek opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to curriculum development and program evaluation.
- Actively participate in school improvement initiatives.
180 days, as determined by the school calendar. Salary and benefits in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated by Building Administration.
