Are you an accounting professional who enjoys supporting student learning? The Department of Accounting in the Faculty of Business and Economics invites applications for sessional academics to join our dynamic academic team, with a primary focus on conducting tutorials, undertaking assessment and grading activities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your industry expertise to the development of future accounting professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver tutorials in financial accounting and/or management accounting units at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
- Mark and assess student assignments, exams and other coursework in line with established rubrics
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and professional growth
- Maintain academic integrity and uphold the high teaching standards of the Monash Business School
We are seeking candidates who possess strong academic qualifications in accounting, holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, combined with recent or current experience in the accounting, finance, or broader commercial sector. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high quality of education delivery with student satisfaction, a high level of accuracy and consistency in applying assessment criteria, sound judgement in evaluating student work, and a commitment to maintaining academic integrity.
A meticulous approach to detail, the ability to manage assessment workloads within defined time frames, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
