Position Overview
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Education and Accreditation Manager, UNLV Research Protections [R0150824]. The Education and Accreditation Manager works with the Director and Assistant Director as a subject matter expert for the HRPP, responsible for identifying, implementing, and evaluating educational programming for the UNLV research community.
Responsibilities- Serve as a subject matter expert and support HRPP leadership in setting goals, planning, organizing, and leading educational programming related to research involving human subjects.
- Represent the HRPP at UNLV with proactive educational programming and on-demand education.
- Manage communications from the HRPP to the research community.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and forms; implement process changes from SOP development.
- Manage the Office of Research Integrity web pages.
- Serve as point-of-contact for the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protections Programs (AAHRPP); manage reaccreditation process, conduct institutional assessments, gap analyses, update policies and SOPs, lead site visits, handle interactions with AAHRPP, and prepare annual reports.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality improvement activities for the HRPP and collaborate with other units such as RICO and compliance officers.
- Implement continuous program improvements identified during QA/QI efforts, including education for researchers and staff.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing human subjects research, including the Common Rule, FDA regulations, OHRP guidance, and HRPP operations.
- Experience conducting AAHRPP accreditation activities.
- Experience with Cayuse Human Ethics platform (preferred).
- Educational background in pedagogy and educational practice for adult learners.
- Basic knowledge of accessibility considerations and Learning Management Systems (Canvas/Instructure).
- Effective educator with experience facilitating asynchronous and synchronous education.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience collaborating across units to achieve cross-unit goals.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems and digital tools to enhance education delivery (preferred).
- Balance federal, state, and local regulations with campus policies.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate educational programs.
- Translate complex concepts into accessible formats.
- Maintain professional relationships and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Analyze data trends and implement process changes based on QA/QI activity.
- At least five years of experience in human subjects research administration.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- IRB Professional certificate (CIP) required.
- Experience with AAHRPP accreditation/reaccreditation and delivering educational programming to researchers.
- 7‑10 years of experience.
- Master’s degree or PhD in a related field.
- Experience conducting QA/QI activities focused on HRPP program improvement.
