Assistant Professor of Big Data Science in Public Health (Full‑time, tenure‑track) – Department of Healthcare Administration & Policy, School of Public Health, University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Responsibilities- Expand and lead big data and informatics research within the School of Public Health, advancing multidisciplinary approaches to healthcare and public health challenges.
- Collaborate with faculty across multiple departments and research areas in the SPH and, when appropriate, with units campus‑wide to support health‑related big data research.
- Integrate multiple technologies and analytical methodologies—particularly information technology, data analytics, emerging digital health technologies, AI‑driven solutions, deep learning, and natural language processing—in research projects.
- Publish peer‑reviewed research and seek extramural funding to support research initiatives.
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees; contribute to professional associations and community outreach.
- PhD from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or CHEA.
- Demonstrated research experience in healthcare, Medicaid/Medicare, payers, health disparities, public health, or related fields.
- Strong publication record and experience seeking extramural funding.
- Experience with big data tools, ETL processes, machine learning programs or cloud platforms.
- Background in applying big data frameworks to AI‑driven solutions.
- Familiarity with public health data and healthcare analytics organizations.
