Position Overview

Coordinator/Senior Coordinator for Student Organizations. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director for Student Organizations and Fraternity & Sorority Life within the Student Involvement & Activities office, the Coordinator provides continuous services, structure, guidance, and resources to support over 470 Registered Student Organizations (RSOs).

The coordinator manages the RSO registration process for returning and new student organizations, oversees the operations of the Student Organization Resource Center (SORCE), and provides consultations and trainings for student leaders related to RSO functions, including accessing University resources and following University policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities also include all aspects of service and program coordination, such as forming collaborative partnerships, risk management, marketing to appeal to a commuter student population, ensuring services and programs are executed within budget, and assessing impact. The Senior Coordinator serves as the office point of contact for elevated RSO issues, is a member of the Student Free Expressive Response Team, assists with reviewing and editing guiding documents such as the RSO Manual and mandatory training curriculum, and conducts and analyzes overall RSO assessments.

The position uses student development theory and leadership theory to enhance community sense by fostering leadership development and appreciation for personal growth activities. Ability to work some evenings and weekends is required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant full‑time experience or 9 months relevant experience as a graduate assistant.
  • Experience with student organizations and leadership development.
  • Four years relevant full‑time post‑bachelor’s experience or two years post‑master’s relevant full‑time experience, and experience with advising student organizations and supervising student staff.
Required Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
  • Experience with student organizations.
  • Facilitate leadership training for students and/or student organizations.
  • Experience marketing programs and involvement to appeal to students.
  • Strong presentation skills and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Translate student development and leadership theory into practice.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Work autonomously and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Analyze situations and develop solutions.
  • Value high degree of student contact.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience advising student organizations.
  • Experience with student organization registration process.
  • Experience with the Engage student organization database management platform.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Effective staff supervision.
  • Coordinate with vendors, track expenses and execute within budget.
  • Assessment of student needs and outcomes.
  • Experience working with commuter student populations.
Background Checks

All candidates must pass a background screening.

Salary

$55,254 to $57,717 for the Coordinator position and $61,340 to $64,346 for the Senior Coordinator position. The university cannot offer more than the stated salary.
