Job Goal
  • To provide instruction and functional curriculum support for Bilingual students.
  • To provide a personalized instructional program that is compatible with the abilities, needs and learning characteristics of each identified Bilingual student.
Performance Responsibilities
  • To provide bilingual instruction in a variety of subjects to children whose primary language is Spanish
  • Instruct students in full curriculum, possibly in a dual language program
  • Prepare course objectives following state and school guidelines
  • Keep attendance and grade reports
  • Serve as teacher of record and will manage a caseload of bilingual students for pull‑out service delivery
  • Hold parent teacher conferences
  • Effectively utilize district technologies appropriate to the position
  • Work collaboratively with general and special education teachers, support personnel, administrators and parents in an environment which will enable identified students to succeed in their efforts to learn language literacy
  • Monitor student growth and collaboratively identify and deliver interventions
  • Collect and analyze student achievement data to demonstrate student growth (e.g., running records, progress monitoring instruments)
  • Assist in gathering data and preparing reports to meet district, state and federal guidelines relating to ELL and maintain all necessary records as required by the program
  • Provide district leadership in the development, implementation and monitoring of the district‑wide ELL programming
  • Provide content knowledge and pedagogical expertise regarding bilingual programming including:
  • Instructional strategies
  • Interpretation of assessment data to document student progress and plan instruction
  • Practices that promote learning
  • Provide information and guidance regarding a range of effective and innovative practices for ELL through various activities such as:
  • Formal and informal discussions
  • Coaching sessions
  • Study groups
  • Professional development and/or training programs and workshops
