Adjuncts are hired on a course basis each term.
Salary Range for Adjuncts teaching in this academic area is $500.00 - $3,750.00 per course.
QualificationsGovernors State University’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks to create an available pool of Adjunct Faculty candidates to teach courses in our Theatre and Performance Studies program. Courses taught by adjunct faculty in the above program are primarily for undergraduates. Depending on qualifications and experience, graduate teaching opportunities may be available. Please visit the Division of Arts and Letters for more information about the program and courses offered.
We are particularly interested in adjunct faculty to teach courses in a variety of areas:
- In Dance, classes in Hip Hop, World Dance, African Dance, and Dance Therapy.
- In Music, classes in music history and theory such as African American Music, History of Jazz, 20th Century Music.
- In Theatre and Performance Studies, classes such as introductory theatre, storytelling, acting, directing, voice, movement, stagecraft, makeup design, sound design, scene design, costume design, lighting design, and stage management.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Theatre, Performance Studies, Dance, Music, or a related discipline.
Preferred QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have experience teaching undergraduate, graduate, and/or online courses. Professional experience is also highly desired.
