Middle School Science Teacher

Location: Mounds

Duties

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and deliver standards-based science lessons

* Teach topics such as life science, earth science, and physical science

* Conduct labs and hands-on experiments to enhance learning

* Assess student understanding through quizzes, tests, and projects

* Maintain an organized, safe, and positive classroom environment

* Integrate technology and real-world connections into instruction

* Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress

* Participate in school meetings, professional development, and events

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field

* Valid state teaching certification for grades 6-8 (Middle School Science)

* Strong classroom management and communication skills

* Passion for teaching science and working with adolescents

Salary/Benefits

* Salary:
Competitive and commensurate with experience, based on the district's certified salary schedule.

* Contract:

Full-time, 9-month position (180 days).

* Retirement:
Participation in the state's Teachers' Retirement System (TRS).
