Job DescriptionFirst Grade Teacher – Bonfield Grade School, School Year. The classroom teacher for Pre‑Kindergarten through Grade 8, or a combination thereof, establishes and maintains a program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth in accordance with each student’s individual need and ability while instructing and engaging all students in learning activities designed to promote social, emotional, and intellectual growth.
Qualifications- Credentials: Valid IL teaching license with proper endorsements.
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree including coursework to meet credential requirements.
- Experience: Student teaching, internship, or previous employment in a teaching position.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds.
- Demonstrate qualification and competency with area of assigned instruction.
- Effectively communicate content knowledge and applications in area of assigned instruction.
- Design and implement instruction in compliance with prescribed district curriculum and objectives.
- Utilize instructional tools and apply instructional strategy of current best practice.
- Communicate with parents positively, professionally, and regularly, including parent‑teacher conferencing.
- Engage students in whole‑group, small‑group, and individual instruction.
- Establish and maintain standards of student conduct and control to achieve full participation in all activities.
- Create and maintain an organized, uncluttered workspace with display emphasis on function and content.
- Engage supervisor cooperatively and interact with colleagues respectfully.
- Maintain and provide accurate records, including evaluation of student performance, within the requested timeline.
- Engage in professional development.
- Participate in school‑wide supervision of students during out‑of‑classroom activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, district/school committees, and student activities by attending, volunteering, sponsoring, or coaching.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Type: Full‑time / School Year
Salary: $41,333 (refer to Salary Schedule)
