Position Overview

To enhance the quality, consistency, and accessibility of the MPAS program, the Instructional Designer () will provide dedicated expertise in course design, faculty support, and curriculum management. The  optimize course delivery, ensure alignment with accreditation standards, and implement best practices in health professions education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Mapping and Management
    • Maintain and update the program’s curriculum map.
    • Ensure alignment of courses with ARC‑PA standards and program learning outcomes.
    • Track course- and program-level competencies to identify gaps or redundancies.
  • Course Revision and Curriculum Development Support
    • Serve as the primary staff member on the Curriculum Committee, collaborating directly with faculty to review program data and recommend evidence-based curricular improvements.
    • Support faculty in revising existing courses for clarity, engagement, and learning outcomes.
    • Assist in developing new courses or modules to meet evolving program needs.
    • Ensure instructional materials follow best practices in health professions education.
  • Canvas Course Management and Support
    • Build and maintain courses in Canvas with standardized templates and accessibility compliance.
    • Implement best practices for course design, navigation, and engagement tools.
    • Provide troubleshooting and technical support for faculty and students.
  • Collaboration and Quality Assurance
    • Work with faculty to ensure strong course design.
    • Conduct regular course audits and implement improvements based on feedback and best practices.
  • Faculty Training and Support
    • Guide faculty on learning science, active learning strategies, and assessment design.
    • Serve as a point of contact for ongoing instructional support, troubleshooting, and coaching at the master’s level.

Qualifications

Instructional Designer, II

  • Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
  • Developing‑Level position in the General Professional track.

Instructional Designer, III

  • Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
  • Career‑Level position in the General Professional track.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
