The Dyslexia Teacher will support identified students with dyslexia by implementing district-approved dyslexia curriculum for intervention. The Dyslexia Teacher will work closely with school level and district level administrators to support identification and evaluation of suspected students. Dyslexia Teachers may also be responsible for campus training on dyslexia research and best teaching practices. Duties include facilitating state/district approved intervention, documenting servicing and progress monitoring of students, campus training, identification and evaluation of suspected students, and attending Section 504 meetings as the Dyslexia Designee.
Planning and initiating appropriate activities to support the written goals and objectives of the District, and complying with state and federal requirements.

Responsibilities- Support the district vision for teaching and support of students with dyslexia
- Serves as an instructional leader in the coordination of effective instructional programs for students with dyslexia.
- Attend and engage with all district training for curriculum for dyslexia intervention.
- Models effective teaching strategies in the classroom and through professional staff development
- Collaborates with other staff members to foster effective decision making, high morale, and enthusiasm in the organization.
- Conducts workshops, and provides support services for Campus teachers.
- Supports identification committees such as MTSS, Section 504, Special Education for student identification and referral.
- Undertakes/completes assignments in an appropriate and timely manner to achieve organizational goals.
- Provides job-embedded training to teachers, administrators, and paraprofessionals on dyslexia, district curriculum and instructional techniques for students with dyslexia.
- Assists campus staff in the effective utilization of computers and other educational supports for students with dyslexia.
- Plans and provides leadership for professional growth of teachers through effective professional development training and timely dissemination of information.
- Facilitates consistent, equitable student management plans through professional development or job-embedded assistance.
- Provides guidance for management of content-area tools, technology, and materials.
