School Psychologist
Harrison School District 36 is seeking a full-time School Psychologist. Qualifications include a master's degree with a valid Illinois PEL and approved program/endorsement for School Psychologist. Candidates should be able to complete required forms and report findings at the Eligibility Review meeting, lead discussions to determine eligibility for special education, and maintain accurate documentation. Previous experience with elementary age and middle school students is preferred.
Performance responsibilities include knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations related to special education services, applying ethics and standards of professional practice, using assessment data to develop interventions, and participating in professional associations for continual improvement. The psychologist should identify and assess learning, development, and adjustment characteristics, report test data and observations, coordinate IEP team meetings, collaborate with teachers, and provide direct counseling services.
Other responsibilities include serving on the Student Support Team, leading Functional Behavior Assessments, and communicating effectively with students, parents, and school staff. Reports to the building principal, with a full-time work schedule and benefits as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
