Minister​/Director of Children and Youth Ministries Calumet Street Christian Church

Responsibilities

• Recruit and train leadership for youth groups (nursery to college age).
• Serve as a resource person and leadership.
• Develop additional programs to meet the continually changing needs of our youth and children.
• Provide faculty, structure, and study materials, such as Bible studies, retreats, youth trips, church camp, VBS, and service projects.
• Teach Sunday school and actively participate in all regularly scheduled worship services.
• Provide leadership for nursery, toddler, preschool, and grade‑school church services.
• Coordinate and actively participate in the Senior High Youth Group.
• Call evangelistically and pastorally on the youth on a regular basis.
• Be available for youth counseling as needed.
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
• Assume administrative duties as pertains to coordination with other ministerial staff.
• Submit youth news for monthly newsletters and bulletins and use social media for current communication with youth and congregation.

Calumet Street Christian Church in southern Illinois, one hour east of St. Louis, seeks a full‑time Minister/Director of Youth and Children with spiritual maturity, solid leadership skills, and doctrinal beliefs embraced by Independent Christian Churches. The congregation runs 200 in weekly attendance and has successful adult, small‑group, teen, children’s, and preschool ministries.
