Position Overview
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice (R0150247)
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses with a teaching load of three courses per semester and possibility of summer teaching.
- Advise graduate students on thesis and dissertations.
- Engage in research in policing, crime analysis, or public safety (especially for large‑scale events) and seek community partnerships.
- Participate in the Tourist Safety Institute and the Center for Crime and Justice Policy.
- Collaborate with faculty and community partners to support the university’s research and outreach missions.
- Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a related social science discipline from an accredited institution, obtained before the start date.
- For an Assistant Professor (tenure‑track): demonstrable ability to teach in‑person and online courses and evidence of original research capacity.
- For an Associate Professor (tenured): strong record of teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, evidence of community involvement, and publication record supporting tenure.
- For a Professor (tenured): strong teaching record including graduate mentoring, evidence of community partnership, and distinguished publication record supporting tenure.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to teach and conduct research in one of the three expertise areas: policing, crime analysis, or public safety.
- Track record of securing research grants and maintaining professional contacts.
- Understanding of interdisciplinary teaching and research.
