Je-Neir Elementary School is searching for a Long Term Elementary Substitute to join our team.

• A valid and current Illinois State PEL or an Illinois Substitute license or the ability to obtain one.
• Ability to implement curriculum in an engaging manner, applying various teaching methods
• Strong supervisory and classroom management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain professionalism
• Proficient with Google Suite or related software

• Plan, organize, and implement all elementary curriculums
• Plan and develop an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the classroom, adhering to educational best practices and state and school district curriculum guidelines
• Design and present individual lesson plans using a variety of teaching techniques that appeal to various learning styles and methods
• Prepare materials for lessons, assignments, and tests; evaluate and grade student performance
• Monitor students’ progress throughout the year and evaluate preparedness for the upcoming grade level; communicate all progress and concerns with professionalism to guardians and, as appropriate, students, other faculty, staff, and/or administrators; build and maintain positive rapport and communication with guardians
• Recognize and support diversity and equity in support of school and district initiatives
• Enjoy working with a diverse group of students of different socio-economic backgrounds
• Participate in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities, workshops, and other training seminars as required
• This position directly reports to the school principal and functionally reports to the other school administrators and district directors
• Perform additional related duties within the scope of this position

Substitute Daily Rate- $135 per day
