Academic Advisor, Lee Business School

Role Summary

As an academic advisor in the Lee Business School Undergraduate Advising office, this individual provides guidance and support to students from recruitment through graduation, ensuring they meet university and college academic requirements and achieve their educational and life goals.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in recruiting events
  • Provide academic guidance to students via appointments, e‑mail, presentations, and information sessions
  • Refer students to other campus offices as needed
  • Create, edit, and disseminate information for handouts, the website, catalog, and other materials
  • Review and process students’ paperwork
  • Maintain relationships with colleagues on campus and at other Nevada System of Higher Education institutions
  • Maintain relationships with the college’s department chairs and faculty
  • Serve as an informational resource to deans, department chairs, faculty, and staff regarding academic policies and administrative procedures
  • Participate in UNLV’s Academic Advising Council
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university plus one year of related professional experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred.
