Academic Advisor – UNLV Student Academic Success [R0152608]
Provide comprehensive academic advising and career/major exploration services to all UNLV students, including exploring major, pre‑professional, non‑degree‑seeking, and students requiring additional advising support. Operate independently with sound judgment while fostering student‑centered guidance across multiple advising centers and maintaining current knowledge of UNLV majors, minors, certificates, and micro‑credentials.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct one‑on‑one advising appointments via in‑person, phone, email, and video conferencing.
- Provide proactive outreach and support for student success initiatives.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of curricula, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and implement solutions to improve advising processes and student experience.
- Collaborate with advising leadership and campus partners to ensure consistent advising practices.
- Support students in goal setting, major selection, and timely degree completion.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Student Success leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- One year of relevant experience.
- Credentials obtained prior to the employment start date.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with diverse student populations.
- Experience advising pre‑professional and exploring students, including career exploration and goal development.
