  • Compensation Range: $47,203 - $99,323 per year. Placement on the salary schedule is based on verified, comparable education and experience. For more information on range placement, review the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Purpose of the Position

The Teacher understands the central concepts, methods of inquiry, and structures of disciplines and creates learning experiences that make the content meaningful to all students.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all actions are in concert with Board policies and the mission, beliefs, objectives and parameters in the Board's strategic plan.
  • Participate in job training and professional growth opportunities to enhance ability to perform essential functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Engage students in an inquiry-based delivery model of instruction.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Use a wide range of instructional strategies and technologies to meet and enhance the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Consider equitable resources and equitable instructional practices to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Update and maintain all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, district policies and school regulations.
  • Create and maintain a safe learning environment for all students.
  • Demonstrate a variety of effective behavior management techniques appropriate to the needs of all students, including those with disabilities.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with building expectations and the district's student code of conduct.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and needs.
  • Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
  • Create formative assessments aligned to district curriculum.
  • Analyze student data from formative and summative assessments to drive differentiated instruction and data-based decision making for students.
  • Utilize current technology to enhance student learning.
Qualifications
  • Illinois Teaching License with appropriate endorsements and certifications.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to demonstrate qualities aligned to core values of Character, Communication, Collaboration and Continuous Improvement.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all school stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop relationships with students and parents.
  • Knowledge of various instructional strategies and techniques.

  • Ability to organize and maintain student records including grade books.

Working Conditions
