Instructional Assistant - Albion, Illinois

Take an active role in supporting student success as a Paraprofessional for the upcoming  school year. This contract, full-time opportunity is based in a vibrant elementary and middle school environment, offering two potential openings: one in a third-grade classroom and another in an eighth-grade classroom. Paraprofessionals in these positions work closely with students in both special education settings and general education classrooms to foster an inclusive, supportive learning experience.

Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

• Experience working with children in educational settings, preferably as a paraprofessional.
• Understanding of the needs of students receiving special education services.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and other staff members.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach.
• Flexibility to support students in a variety of classroom settings and across grade levels.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers with implementing individualized and group instruction in both special education and general education classrooms.
• Support students with academic tasks, behavioral goals, and social interactions.
• Facilitate student participation in classroom activities and transitions.
• Accompany students between various classroom settings and provide supervision during lunch and bus duties.
• Help create a positive, inclusive environment where all students can grow and thrive.
