Long Term Substitute Teacher For Self Contained Special Education

Je-Neir Elementary School is searching for a long term substitute teacher for self contained special education to join our team.

Qualifications:

• A valid and current Illinois State PEL or an Illinois Substitute license or the ability to obtain one.
• Ability to implement curriculum in an engaging manner, applying various teaching methods Strong supervisory and classroom management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain professionalism
• Proficient with Google Suite or related software

Responsibilities:

• Plans, organizes, and implements the curriculum appropriate for special education students
• Plans and develops an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the classroom, adhering to educational best practices and state and school district curriculum guidelines
• Designs and presents individual lesson plans using a variety of teaching techniques that appeal to various learning styles and methods
• Prepares materials for lessons, assignments, and tests; evaluates and grades student performance
• Monitors students' progress throughout the year and evaluates preparedness for the upcoming grade level; communicates all progress and concerns with professionalism to guardians and, as appropriate, students, other faculty, staff, and/or administrators; builds and maintains positive rapport and communication with guardians
• Recognizes and supports diversity and equity in support of school and district initiatives
• Enjoy working with a diverse group of students of different socio-economic backgrounds
• Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities, workshops, and other training seminars as required
• This position directly reports to the school principal and functionally reports to the other school administrators and district directors
• Performs additional related duties within the scope of this position

Substitite Daily Rate- $135 per day
