Duties

Anna CCSD #37 is seeking a dedicated and motivated professional to join our district. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to supporting students, staff, and families. Candidates should be able to work effectively with colleagues, maintain positive relationships, and contribute to the district's overall success.

Duties include:

  • Prepare the monthly Board of Education report and attend Board meetings as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for special education and Section 504 students in SIS and Teacher Ease, including all required data entry.
  • Attend and facilitate all district Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, including meetings for students placed in off-campus programs.
  • Collaborate with the Tri-County Special Education Association (SEA) to coordinate and schedule all IEP meetings.
  • Coordinate substitute teacher coverage for staff attending IEP meetings.
  • Review all IEPs prior to meetings to ensure compliance, accuracy, completeness, and quality.
  • Assist staff in developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans for students.
  • Determine when Manifestation Determination Reviews are required for students with IEPs who are suspended and facilitate the meetings.
  • Establish and coordinate transportation arrangements for students attending off-campus placements, including preparing and submitting transportation lists to the transportation provider.
  • Assist with addressing and resolving transportation-related behavioral concerns involving students in off-campus placements.
  • Manage and monitor caseloads for all district special education staff.
  • Monitor students in off-campus placements through regular communication with receiving districts to ensure continued compliance with IEP requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously update the district special education schedule as students are enrolled, dismissed, or otherwise change educational placement.
  • Serve as the case manager for all district Section 504 students, including scheduling and facilitating meetings, maintaining documentation, and monitoring compliance with accommodations in collaboration with teachers.
  • Facilitate all district academic Student Support Team (SST) meetings, including preparing reports and maintaining required documentation.
  • Maintain Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO) data in SIS, including initial, progress, and exit outcomes.
  • Maintain early childhood transition information in SIS for incoming three-year-old students.
  • Coordinate and schedule early childhood transition IEP meetings with local early intervention agencies.
  • Develop annual class lists and monitor compliance with the 30% rule.
  • Serve as Assistant Principal at Lincoln Elementary School, providing leadership and support related to parent concerns, special education matters, student behavior, and discipline.
  • Address and assist in resolving staff concerns, complaints, and building-level issues.
  • Respond to parent concerns at Lincoln Elementary and address matters related to special education throughout the district.
  • Collaborate with the school secretary regarding building operations, updates, and the day-to-day functioning of Lincoln Elementary.
  • Oversee behavior and discipline at Lincoln Elementary and assist with district-wide behavioral concerns involving students receiving special education services.
  • Conduct teacher evaluations in accordance with district policies and applicable requirements.
  • Conduct aide evaluations and provide appropriate feedback and support.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or Board of Education.
Qualifications

Type 75 Administrative endorsement with a background in special education.
