The Career Exploration Course Facilitator is responsible for delivering engaging instruction that helps participants identify career interests, develop career readiness skills, explore education and training pathways, and create actionable plans for achieving their career goals. The facilitator provides guidance, resources, and hands‑on learning opportunities that support informed career decision‑making and workforce success.
Essential Responsibilities- Facilitate Career Exploration Course sessions using approved curriculum and instructional materials.
- Guide participants through self‑assessments to identify interests, strengths, values, skills, and career goals.
- Introduce participants to various career clusters, industries, occupations, and labor market trends.
- Assist participants in researching educational, training, certification, and apprenticeship opportunities.
- Teach foundational workforce readiness skills, including communication, teamwork, professionalism, and problem‑solving.
- Support participants in developing resumes, cover letters, and professional portfolios.
- Prepare participants for interviews through coaching, mock interviews, and feedback.
- Coordinate guest speakers, employer presentations, workplace tours, and career‑focused activities.
- Track attendance, participation, progress, and course outcomes.
- Provide individualized coaching and support to help participants overcome barriers to employment or education.
- Maintain accurate records and submit required reports in a timely manner.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications- Associate’s degree in Education, Human Services, Workforce Development, Counseling, Business, or a related field;
- Experience in workforce development, career services, education, training, counseling, or related fields
- Knowledge of career development principles and workforce readiness practices
- Understanding of career pathways, postsecondary education options, and labor market information
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and classroom management skills
- Ability to motivate and engage diverse groups of learners
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and online career exploration tools
