Qualifications:
Current District 117 High School Student Patience, dependability, flexibility and perseverance Acceptance of diverse learning styles and needs Ability to manage time, display strong organizational skills, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing Show reliability and the ability to work as part of a team Sensitivity to cultural differences Willing to volunteer on a consistent basis Strong reading and writing skills Strong math skills Strong communication skills
Job Responsibilities:
Assist student within the school setting-behaviorally, emotionally and academically Assist students with assignments and activities as provided by the teacher(s) Provide assistance and targeted support, without distraction Actively supervise when not in an academic setting (break, recess, bussing) Enforce school wide expectations Be a smiling face and a positive interaction for our students Be a team player Cleaning of classroom surfaces/toys Refer to student plans to best assist students and understand their needs Communicate with teachers about the specifics of the students you are working with Report student safety concerns Carry out miscellaneous support tasks as assigned
