The Superintendent will provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the District's educational and operational programs, including:
- Establishing and communicating a clear vision for the District.
- Leading the development and implementation of district goals and strategic initiatives.
- Providing instructional leadership focused on student achievement and continuous improvement.
- Recruiting, developing, evaluating, and retaining high-quality personnel.
- Supporting principals and administrators in effective school leadership.
- Managing district finances, budgeting, and resource allocation responsibly.
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and Board policies.
- Overseeing district operations, facilities, transportation, technology, and safety.
- Building strong relationships with parents, community organizations, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Maintaining effective communication with the Board of Education and community.
- Promoting a positive, professional, and collaborative organizational culture.
- Advocating for the needs of students and the District.
- Preparing and presenting recommendations to the Board of Education.
- Ensuring that district programs and services effectively meet the diverse needs of students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A valid Illinois Professional Educator License with the Superintendent endorsement, or eligibility for the appropriate Illinois superintendent licensure.
- Successful experience as a District Superintendent. A minimum of two years as a district level Superintendent is required.
- Demonstrated success in improving teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of Illinois school finance, school law, collective bargaining, and school district operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets and allocate resources strategically.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- A record of building positive relationships with staff, families, students, and community members.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change while maintaining trust and collaboration.
- Strong ethical standards and professional integrity.
A regionally competitive salary and benefit package will be negotiated with the final candidate based on experience and education level. The anticipated package range will be $140k - $160K.
