Adult Education Coordinator

Supervise daily activities and assist the Director in administrating all Adult Education programs operated by the college. Manage data & information services for Adult Education Programs.

Essential Duties or Responsibilities

The essential duties and primary responsibilities below are intended to describe the general requirements of this job and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties. Other related duties which may be required by the Director of Adult Education & Alternative Instruction (duties that may not be specifically listed in the class specification or position description, but are generally within the occupational series and responsibility level associated with the employee's class of work).

Adult Education Coordination

  • Assist with the coordination of Adult Education activities- including assessment, testing, transition, data & information services. Provide Guidance and/or Social Work Services to participants.
  • Coordinate Transition programs for adult education students.
  • Coordinate the collection and reporting of student testing, progress, attendance, and grades. Serve as lead teacher and supervisor of AHS programs. Supervise and monitor students' behavior and progress, and make recommendations regarding retention in the program.

Program Development and Planning

  • Assist in the development of the APC plan and serve on the Area Planning Council.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of guidelines and procedures for the high school & transition programs.
  • Assist the Director in curriculum development, registration, and supervision of the alternative high school, after-school, summer school, credit recovery, & transition programs.

Student Services and Supervision

  • Coordinate student intake and registration for high school programs.
  • Maintain contact with parents of AHS students.

Grant and Budget Support

  • Assist in writing the AEFL grant, developing program budgets, and maintaining administrative files. Assist in collecting and recording student and program data, including performance and fiscal data.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, or a related field
  • Excellent technology skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
