Passionate about fostering student success? An exciting contract opportunity awaits skilled School Psychologists eager to support K-12 learners in a supportive, forward-thinking educational environment in the Portsmouth, VA area.

With a flexible start in late August and an end date in early June, you’ll be working 37.5 hours per week across one or two schools, helping students reach their full potential through direct services, evaluations, and collaborative problem-solving with educators and families. Hybrid scheduling is available, providing the chance to balance on-site and virtual work according to your needs and district arrangements.

Key

Qualifications:

• Active and valid Virginia Psychologist License.
• Experience or strong interest in providing school psychological services to K-12 age ranges.
• Excellent communication, assessment, and consultation skills.
• Commitment to culturally responsive and ethical practice.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic school setting and work flexibly, including hybrid arrangements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and report findings.
• Provide counseling, behavioral intervention, and crisis support services to students.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
• Consult with parents, teachers, and administrators on strategies for academic and social-emotional success.
• Support data-driven decision-making and contribute to a positive school climate.
