Nexus Onarga provides boys ages 10 to 20 years old a structured, homelike environment where they can safely address a variety of unhealthy behaviors and mental health issues as well as childhood trauma.

Work Schedule & Salary

• Schedule:
  
  As needed basis throughout the school year and/or summer opportunities available June-August!
• Hours:
  
  M-F 7a-3:30pm (prescheduled & on call hours available)
• Location:
  
  110 N Locust, Onarga, IL
• Salary: $22-$24 per hour based on credentials & prior teaching experience.

• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100+ pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours).
• Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within the residential program.
• Must be able to assist in proper restraining of client.
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

• Complement the scheduling needs of the full-time teaching staff
• Provide instruction to assigned students in classes of expertise as assigned.
• Provide crisis intervention within the classroom setting and apply TCI or approved de-escalation techniques appropriate to the situation at hand; ask for assistance when warranted through appropriate procedures and keep other academic and clinical treatment staff appraised of inappropriate behaviors.
• Ensure confidentiality regarding students is in compliance with all licensing agencies, company policy, COA and HIPAA guidelines.
• Attend training sessions as required; understand and support the Nexus treatment philosophy and modalities

• ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education) Substitute Teaching License.
• Must successfully pass a DCFS criminal background check.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and transportation.
• Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.

• Previous teaching or sub teaching experience.
• Special Education experience.
