Minimum Requirements:
A completed application within FRONTLINEmust be submitted by September 24, 2026 in order to be eligible for an invitation to the Substitute Teacher Orientation.

Minumum of High School Degree/GED Required
References must complete online survey (survey is sent automatically once application is fully submitted)
Applicants with less than 60 college credits must complete the STEDI course to obtain a Sub Diploma OR obtain an Educational Aide I Certification approved through Texas Education Agency (TEA).
If completing the STEDI course, you will need to pass with a minimum score of 85%. The Sub Diploma must be uploaded to application. The course link can be found on the District Website r-cisd.org , click employment, click Stedi (new substitutes). The cost is $49.95.
Fingerprinting information will be shared at the Substitute Teacher Orientation. The cost will be $47.99.
Applicant must be proficient in the English language.
Secondary and High School Campus Requirements:
Substitute must be at least 25years of age.
