SMASE is seeking paraprofessionals to help support students with disabilities in the Staunton CUSD 6 and Mt. Olive CUSD 5 school districts. Paraprofessionals serve as assistants to classroom teachers and support for students. Duties include supervising students, assisting with instruction, materials preparation and other duties as assigned.
QualificationsApplicants must be at least 19 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, and be able to obtain a clean background check when applying for a short term approval for paraprofessionals.
Applicants will need to be able to physically squat, kneel, walk, run, stretch and carry up to 20 pounds.
Salary/BenefitsStarting hourly rate is $16.50 per hour, including paid lunch time.
Paraprofessionals also receive a $100 stipend monthly.
Paraprofessionals are eligible for a $500 attendance bonus of they use 3 or less days of paid time off per year.
Paraprofessionals are paid for 5 holidays that are not worked (Columbus Day, President's Day, MLK Day, Veteran's Day, Labor Day)
12 paid sick days and 4 paid personal days.
