Extra- Early Childhood Substitute Teacher; Pool

Description

Governors State University is seeking to hire an Extra-Help Early Childcare Education Substitute Teacher to support classroom teachers in maintaining required ratios and implementing daily classroom activities and routines. The position provides a safe,nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 0-5 years old while adhering to DCFS, Early Head Start (EHS),Preschool for All Expansion (PFAE) Prevention Initiative (PI), andNAEYC accreditation standards.

• Implement an age-appropriate, success-oriented, developmentally appropriate center-based program using the designatedcurricula.
• Integrate all aspects of Early Head Start Performance Standards, Illinois DCFS day care regulations, and NAEYCaccreditation standards into the schedule and curriculum for eachchild.
• Use active supervision to assure that all children aresupervised within sight and sound at all times.
• Maintain awareness of allergies and medical conditions.
  
  Administer medication as trained.
• Eat with and assist children in the development of social andself-help skills and sound nutritional practice using Family Style Meal practices..
• Work as a collaborative team to design an environment and activities designed to meet the health, safety, and educational needs of assigned children.
• Follow and maintain daily routine and schedule and maintain classroom management.
• Provide responsive caregiving, assist with feeding and diapering, and self-help skills, such as handwashing, toileting,tooth brushing, and hygiene practices as appropriate per agegroup.
