Description

HOH Water Technology is a third‑generation, family‑owned water treatment company proudly celebrating over 58 years in business. Our success has always been about more than water treatment — it is about investing in people and creating lasting impact for our clients, coworkers, and community. We believe our people are our greatest competitive advantage, and we have built a culture centered around our Core Values of Accountability, Creativity, Teamwork, and Service.

We are looking for a Water Quality Engineer who wants to make a measurable impact for clients by solving water treatment challenges, improving system performance, and helping protect critical equipment and operations.

About the Role
  • This is a hands‑on, client‑facing engineering role focused on industrial and commercial water treatment systems.
  • You will evaluate water quality, troubleshoot treatment programs, interpret test results, and recommend solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
  • You will partner closely with customers, sales, service, and operations teams to ensure water treatment programs are performing as designed and delivering meaningful value.
  • You will manage and grow ongoing customer relationships by maintaining regular contact, understanding customer needs, and taking ownership of follow‑up items that strengthen long‑term account success.
  • If your greatest satisfaction comes from solving technical problems, building trust with customers, and turning data into practical action, we would love to meet you.
  • Must be able to report to our Palatine, Illinois office only when needed, and travel daily to customer locations throughout the region.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience of $85,000-$120,000.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical and Dental Insurance with generous employer contributions, HSA contributions ($1,200 family / $800 individual annually), 401(k) with company matching, Life Insurance, and much more.
  • Generous Time Off: 15 PTO days, 16 paid holidays including extended holiday pay at the end of the year.
  • Profit Sharing Bonus: Company Profit Sharing Bonus (budget projection for 2026: approximately 3–4 weeks of additional pay).
  • Engaging Culture: Caring leaders who invest in people. HOH earned a 4.69/5 Gallup Employee Engagement Q12 score, and we believe in celebrating wins, giving back, and creating meaningful connections through team and company events.
  • Career Growth: Ongoing professional development, hands‑on technical learning, continuing education reimbursement, and the opportunity to grow your expertise in water treatment, engineering, and customer partnership.
You’ll Love This Role If...
  • You enjoy solving technical problems. You like digging into data, asking smart questions, identifying root causes, and developing practical solutions that work in real‑world systems.
  • You care about water quality and system performance. You understand that reliable water treatment protects equipment, improves efficiency, reduces risk, and helps customers operate with confidence.
  • You are comfortable with customers. You can explain technical information clearly, build credibility through follow‑through, and help customers understand what is happening and why it matters.
  • You are
detail-oriented. Test results, trend data, site observations, and documentation matter to you because small details often lead to the right recommendation.
  • You like variety. One day may involve analyzing water samples and treatment data; another may include walking a customer site, troubleshooting a system, or supporting a new program rollout.
  • You are proactive and resourceful. You notice issues early, communicate clearly, and take ownership of moving solutions forward with urgency…
