Tasks

Agreeing and following up targets with the Project Manager or the Operations Readiness Manager in terms of quality, costs and timing in agreement with the superior and taking existing processes and methods into consideration.

Executing in the development of production methods, considering market development for production systems, and checking new systems for their suitability and applicability as set by Hella specific constraints and legal requirements.

Planning complex operating equipment based on capacity and staff deployment plans; define type, extent, and number of necessary production equipment (including auxiliary and series tools, jigs, testing equipment, special machines); arrange the procurement and/or production of the specified operating equipment.

Determining available internal capacities for the construction of operating equipment; estimating costs and preparing suggestions for internal or external procurement.

Defining and describing manufacturing sequences, capacities and operating equipment data, taking into account planning variables (workflows, planned times, batch sizes); preparing manufacturing plans using existing systems and methods.

Planning new manufacturing sequences and operating equipment with the help of existing manufacturing processes, applying knowledge from work science, production engineering and economics; using digitization to increase efficiency and robustness (e.g., MES, Hydra, iTAC).

Continual editing, interpretation and implementation of relevant technical information from internal and external partners, and coordinating and implementing process and production equipment changes.

Evaluating risks using process FMEA while considering customer requirements, and developing and implementing improvement actions.

Preparing, updating and managing production and quality related documentation according to guidelines, and creating and updating production master data.

Involvement in internal and external pre-series audits in production and quality assurance, and supporting series auditing in agreement with the superior if appropriate.

Planning and coordinating the preparation of (initial) samples including component recording and provision; monitoring the production of (initial) samples and carrying out acceptance test checks; initiating design changes in agreement with the project team when appropriate.

Involvement in and/or implementation of defined escalation scenarios when deviations from targets occur in manufacturing engineering, and proposing alternative solutions.

Involvement in change management (EOP control, costing, feasibility analysis, scheduling, etc.).

Qualifications

University degree
More than 3 years experience
Experience with SMED and lean manufacturing
