Surveying Technician - Office; MicroStation ORD​/AutoCAD C3D

Location:

Peoria, Normal or Champaign, IL

• Work independently to obtain records & project information
• Prepare complex drawings from field data and field sketches using computer-aided drafting software platforms and ensure drawings are accurate and complete.
• Adhere to company and client standard CAD procedures as mandated.
• Exercise independent judgment in the execution of surveying deliverables.
• Communicate ideas for drawing execution, design, and layout.
• Maintain schedules and communicate progress on a daily basis.
• Mentor less experienced surveying technicians and offer advice & knowledge.

• 6+ years previous surveying experience
• Valid US driver's license & good driving record
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate in a mentor / mentee team atmosphere
• Ability to understand and utilize current & new technology
• Safety oriented
• Excellent communication skills
• Positive and collaborative work ethic
• Experience with MS Office products (Word & Excel)

• 10+ years previous surveying experience
• Expert/advanced understanding of land surveying and geometry.
• Expert knowledge of AutoCAD C3D and/or Micro Station ORD
• CST1 or CST2 or CST3 (certified survey technician level 1, 2 or
  3) certification.
• Experienced with Aerial Drone and 3D Point Cloud scanning technology.

• Primarily an office position, ability to work outside on projects if needed.
• Ability to work in various terrain & weather conditions and recognize safety hazards.
• Requires the ability to work on multi-discipline projects simultaneously.
• Ability to use a computer and work in an office environment.
• Makes suggestions & undertakes company mandated trainings to increase skill and ability.

$30 - $40 per hour (Salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity).
