Mechanical Engineer

The Bachrach Group is partnered with one of the leading global energy companies on their search for a MECHANICAL ENGINEER III for their plant located in East Dubuque, IL
. This role will develop, evaluate and design projects and modifications to improve efficiency and reliability within the plant. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required as well as 5+ years of engineering experience in oil and gas or chemical plant refinery.

• Accountable for the successful development, design and execution of projects
• Provide leadership and supervision for peers, contractors and team members
• Interact with outside consultants and vendors, as well as provide complete project management for capital projects including budgeting, scheduling, directing work scope and supervising all activities associated projects.
• Provide Technical Support for Plant Operations and Maintenance
• Propose new work procedures that will impact efficiency and effectiveness
• Assist the group in development of Key Process Indicators and other process monitoring tools
• Interact with Safety, Environmental, Operations, Maintenance, Accounting and Purchasing
• Communicate with outside vendors, contract engineering services, and Industry Groups
• Provide field supervision support for work on critical equipment
• Act as consultant to field personnel on specific repair problems
• Develop individual equipment specifications and provide recommendations on technology and bid selection
  • Within their sphere of responsibility, ensure drawing reviews and specific Management of Change Orders are reviewed on a timely basis
• Participate in equipment inspections, process safety reviews and process hazard analysis including facility turnarounds, including any required 24-hour shift coverage and support for individual process callout requirements
• Regularly Communicate with supervisor work progress, concerns and questions
• Exposure to work near potentially volatile and combustible materials and chemicals

• Bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering is required
• 5+ years of engineering experience in oil and gas or chemical plant refinery
• Experience leading technical or project teams is required
• Experience with capital and operating cost estimating and economic analysis
• Experience with mechanical integrity programs
• Ability to analyze, reason and solve increasingly complex problems
• Working knowledge and experience with Process Safety Management programs is preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office applications is preferred
• Must have fluency in English, oral and written

Schedule:

ONSITE

Salary range: $125,000 - $145,000 DOE (+ bonus eligible)
