Job Description

Join our team as a Mechanical Design Engineer where you will contribute to the development and modification of layouts and designs for existing products. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring these designs meet the highest standards of strength, noise reduction, functionality, ergonomics, safety, and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the development of layouts and design modifications in existing products and provide information required for production use.
  • Utilize engineering tools to analyze designs to meet requirements for strength, noise, functionality, ergonomics, safety, and quality.
  • Communicate and coordinate with suppliers to develop specifications for products and components requiring engineering input.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans with input from engineering, marketing, and production teams.
  • Collaborate with production, manufacturing engineering, lab supervision, marketing, service, and engineering personnel during project implementation.
  • Prepare and review complete engineering change packages, ensuring completeness and accuracy per departmental procedures.
  • Use departmental CAD system and office software according to company standards and procedures.
  • Participate in cost reduction processes as needed.
  • Evaluate product modifications to determine performance and user satisfaction success, which may include field and trade show travel.
  • Assist drafters and designers with engineering expertise to complete design activities.
Essential Skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in engineering design.
  • Mobile equipment experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, with a preference for Pro-E.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical controls/multiplex and hydraulics systems is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Aerospace Engineering (BSAE).
Work Environment

Work within a collaborative environment that requires interaction with various departments such as engineering, marketing, and production. Utilize advanced CAD systems and office software to perform your duties. Travel may be required for field visits and trade shows.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Streator, IL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $45.00/hr.
