Sr. Electrical Engineer - Charging System Engineer
Mossville, IL
Join a Fortune 500 company as a full‑time senior engineer. We offer a competitive base pay range of $85,000 to $96,000 per year, plus full benefits including 401(k), health, vision, disability, life insurance, PTO, and paid holidays.
Job Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Product Support team to diagnose and resolve field‑reported issues.
- Partner with electricians to support charger rework and modifications.
- Perform End‑of‑Line (EOL) testing on chargers to ensure quality and functionality.
- Update designs and component selections to meet compliance, functional, and performance requirements.
- Work closely with the Controls team to support resolution of charger field issues.
- Analyze and review telematics data across the charger fleet to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and document test plans for new features and charger validation activities.
- Implement design changes as needed and manage drawing updates and release processes.
- Coordinate with Controls, Validation, and Cooling teams to support cross‑functional development efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (8+ years of experience) or Master’s degree (4+ years of experience).
- Associate’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience accepted.
- Hands‑on experience with converter and inverter prototyping, test benches, and debugging activities.
- Working knowledge of applicable standards and compliance requirements (UL, IEC, ISO) for power electronics systems.
- Strong understanding of DC‑DC converters, AC‑DC inverters, magnetics, and associated control algorithms.
- Proficiency in using laboratory instruments and data acquisition tools.
- Experience developing or executing automated test systems and procedures.
- Solid understanding of EMI/EMC testing, thermal design principles, and environmental validation processes.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontroller‑based control for power converters.
- Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
- Effectively diagnose complex system issues and develop practical, data‑driven solutions.
- Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, partnering with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
- Ensure accuracy in design reviews, technical documentation, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Manage changing priorities and perform well in a fast‑paced development environment.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and may lead small technical teams or initiatives.
- Navigate differing viewpoints and facilitate alignment to drive outcomes.
- Understand schedules, resource planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Translate customer requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends.
