Job Summary

As the Category Buyer for Aftertreatment Components
, including Clean Emission Modules, Catalysts, and Substrates, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a global strategy across the Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supply network. You will apply Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) principles to optimize performance across the supply base and maximize total cost benefits for the category. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders, including Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Facility Procurement, to turn strategy into practical outcomes.

What You Will Do
  • Develop, manage and execute the category strategy across multiple supplier tiers
  • Recognize the potential for cost optimization plans, supply chain performance improvements, quality improvements and design resiliency/risk mitigation plans
  • Act as the liaison between the organization and suppliers to communicate information explicitly, while considering production demands and suppliers’ conditions
  • Challenge and manage suppliers’ performance on time sensitivity and production, while maintaining a strong collaborative relationship with suppliers

    Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

    :
    Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Contracts Management and Administration
    :
    Knowledge of policies, standards and processes of how to manage and administer contracts; ability to use proper processes and practices for managing and administering a variety of contractual agreements.
  • Supplier Relationship Management
    :
    Knowledge of supplier relationship management concept and strategies; ability to address critical issues to meet supplier needs and maintain an engaged, partnering relationship with suppliers.
  • Strategic Sourcing
    :
    Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re‑evaluate organizational procurement processes continuously.
