Wood is currently recruiting for an LV/MV unit technician to join its Singapore business unit, focusing on providing O&M Services during the Operation Period.
This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq, with travel requirement.
ResponsibilitiesThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced LV/MV unit technician to join our Singapore Business Unit. O& M Services during the Operation Period – PV field from the start of the operations, shall perform the Preventive Maintenance and the Corrective Maintenance in accordance with the Customer's operating procedures, maintenance plans, work instructions, and HSE requirements.
Findings of equipment failures and or deviations from expected normal wear and tear or operation must be corrected. Shall perform all required corrective and unscheduled maintenance actions, in respect of the Solar Plant to ensure achievement of an optimized performance and minimize severity and duration of incidents and outages. Shall remedy any error, fault or defect including damage and/or disruptions in relation to the performance and/or running of the Solar Plant.
All activities, including investigations, tests and similar where necessary to discover, identify, locate the failure and its possible causes (e.g. electrical tests and measurements, physical checks) which are necessary to correct and remedy any incident, defect, failure, breakage, breakdown, deviation, malfunction or anomaly arisen at the Solar Plant irrespective if it is caused by a defect of an element, by an error of installation, by wear and tear or other reasons, and irrespective if the cause is external or internal to the Solar Plant.
The Corrective Maintenance shall be carried out to (i) optimize the capacity and to (ii) maximize the performance of the Solar Plant.
Each LV/MV unit technician is assigned to one unit of the plant.

Expected:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- 3–5 years LV/MV O&M experience (utility, solar, or industrial)
- LV/MV switching authorization + electrical safety certifications
- Competence in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and corrective maintenance
- Strong HSE orientation
Preferred:
- Experience in solar plants or power utility sites
- Proven capability to perform preventive maintenance and corrective fault-finding independently, with unit-level responsibility for availability/performance.
