Product Support Engineer – Engine Electronics
We are seeking a Product Support Engineer – Engine Electronics to provide technical expertise and support for Electronic Control Modules (ECMs), sensors, and displays. This role involves troubleshooting, developing solutions, and collaborating with internal teams and dealers to ensure seamless product performance.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic issues in ECMs, sensors, and displays.
- Work with dealers and technical teams to identify root causes and implement effective resolutions.
- Develop, validate, and implement fixes in collaboration with the CPI team and update technical documentation.
- Monitor product outcomes and publish solutions and improvements for ECMs, sensors, and displays.
- Collaborate with development, service, and publications teams to integrate ECM, sensor, and display support needs into product designs.
- Provide technical support to dealers, marketing teams, and engineers, including field visits and component teardowns.
- Address inquiries regarding product performance from dealers, customers, and internal Caterpillar teams.
- Engage in virtual or in-person discussions with product development and support teams regarding ECM, sensor, and display deliverables.
- Analyze technical issues and communicate actionable insights to resolve customer concerns.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering.
- Open to strong entry-level candidates with relevant coursework or experience.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with ECMs, sensors, displays, or similar electronic systems.
- Proficiency in CANape, Cat ET, and CANalyzer for diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, circuits, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Experience with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
