The Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Senior Design Engineer. This position may be based at either our Mossville, Illinois, or Corinth, Mississippi facility, with the final location determined based on the selected candidate’s location and proximity to the facility.
What You Will Do- Research new materials and competitive products. Organize, coordinate, and execute the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
- Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. Oversee the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
- Develop and document functional requirements and translate into detail design documents. Participate in buy-build analysis for product components.
- Participate in and support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science (or equivalent experience).

- Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
- Computer‑Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate, and test product design drafts.
- Product Design – MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools, and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
- Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
