Job Summary

Power Electronics EOL Test & Validation Senior Engineer position located in Mossville, IL. Responsible for production manufacturing end‑of‑line test of Power Electronics product lines. Reports to the Power Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Manager and partners with global engineering and supplier teams to provide technical EOL testing guidance. Leads planning and delivery of complex projects, stays abreast of innovative technology, and drives collaboration in a cross‑functional environment.

Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions (E+ES) Division delivers advanced electrified power trains, zero‑emissions products/technologies, and associated services. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro‑grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services, and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

What You Will Do
  • Implement and improve testing, development and validation techniques, processes, tooling and machinery to maximize product quality.
  • Resolve issues regarding design or manufacturing, ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness.
  • Participate in adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer‑aided manufacturing software, etc.) to increase efficiency, reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Plan and improve testing procedures and operations to make the test more reliable, efficient and cost‑effective.
  • Monitor results, machine and process capabilities and performance reliability.
  • Require a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum or equivalent experience in an Engineering function.

    Coordinate execution of test plans, collaborate with design team, recommend automation tools, develop test scenarios, estimate resources.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems:
    Evaluate business impact, resolve high‑impact equipment problems, monitor machine performance, isolate problems, employ diagnostic techniques.
Top Candidates Will Have
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering/Technology curriculum, or extensive related experience in lieu of a degree.
