Structural Engineer, Civil Engineering
Scot Forge is seeking to hire an experienced structural-focused engineer to lead expansions within our manufacturing facilities. The role requires the ability to layout, design, and manage the development of building structures, foundations, and site civil needs. The position includes substantial project management of outside and inside contractors for cost-effective and timely installations.

Responsibilities- Layout functional building/plant layouts and design reliable foundations for machinery.
- Use Solid Works and 2D CAD for layout, design, and documentation of building structures, plant/equipment layouts, and plant utilities.
- Assess project feasibility and develop budgets and ROI analyses.
- Prepare specifications for bid packages, obtain quotations, negotiate price and delivery, and review contracts.
- Submit and award contracts to vendors for buildings, foundations, utilities, site civil, and plant cranes.
- Develop and maintain visual schedules for building/foundation projects (MS Project).
- Coordinate general contractor activities and supervise subcontractors for plant building and office projects.
- Direct internal personnel for installation/assembly of designs.
- Oversee the quality and safety of external contractors during installation of buildings, foundations, and utilities (HVAC, plumbing, and railroad).
- Modify, redesign, and repair existing structures.
- Apply deep knowledge of building structural design and heavy machinery foundation design; understand plant utilities, civil engineering, building codes, and environmental codes.
- Coordinate architectural/structural needs for multiple plants (including joint venture plants).
- Ensure designs meet or exceed applicable codes; perform analysis, validation, and due diligence to prioritize plant and personnel safety.
- Assist with mechanical designs (Solid Works).
- Other duties as assigned.
- BS in Architectural/Structural Engineering or related degree with a minimum of five years of Structural Engineering experience.
- Strong project management skills (degree or experience).
- Knowledge of crane code manufacturing (CMAA).
- Knowledge of permitting, building codes, and standards.
- Proficient in structural blueprint reading and 2D CAD generation.
- Proficient in MS Office (including MS Project).
- Excellent communication, organization, and detail-oriented skills.
The estimated pay range is a good-faith range at the time of posting and may be adjusted based on factors including skills, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, geographic location, and business needs. The actual pay offered will depend on these factors.
