Engineer - Project Engineer-Design Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead identification of applicable Engineering Design Standards, Functional Standards, Specifications, and regulatory requirements/guidance.
• Own overall design delivery for capital project(s); coordinate design activities through conceptual and basic design review.
• Direct development of design requirements and maintain design schedule.
• Participate in selection of A/E firms and verification services; coordinate A/E firms on earned value progress systems.
• Expedite design decisions; ensure design meets approved intent through interactions across teams and end users.
• Resolve design-related problems and provide design governance.
• Identify design inefficiencies and develop improvement strategies to meet the design hours plan.
• Assist with SOPs, project delivery work instructions, and/or best practices for design/verification.
• Review/approve key design project personnel with the Project Manager; coordinate with Engineering Tech Center and constructability resources.
• Ensure replication where applicable; support value engineering efforts; review design-related invoices and participate in KPI reviews.
• Accountable for development of the Project Verification Plan, Traceability Matrix, and risk assessments.

• BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
• 5+ years manufacturing and/or engineering experience supporting pharmaceutical or API networks.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time;

• Pharmaceutical process/project engineering experience; strong project management.
• Facilitate conflict resolution; influence across levels.
• Knowledge of capital project delivery and A/E design activities; ability to frame/implement complex decisions.
• Experience resolving issues, anticipating scope changes, and delivering safely with quality, speed, and value.
• Willingness to relocate/travel (avg ~25%); possible co-location at A/E firm or job site to support C&Q.
