Doswell, Virginia – State Fair of Virginia

REPORTS TO:
Event Logistics Assistant

• EVENT ASSISTANT – TICKET SALES AND CLERK FOR COMPETITIONS REPORTS ($15)
• Sell tickets to guests at booths, windows, or mobile stations.
• Operate POINT of sale units
• Answer questions about fair schedules, ticket prices, and daily events.
• Distribute maps
  , brochures, or special event wristbands.
• Report large crowds or line issues to fair supervisors.
• Enter data for competition results and produce reports for superintendents

Requirements

• Basic math skills to make correct change and count money.
• Good communication skills to speak clearly with the public.
• Friendly attitude and patience during busy rush times.
• Ability to stand for long hours inside a booth or ticket window.
• Reliable transportation to arrive at the fairgrounds on time.

Working Conditions

• Outdoor or semi-outdoor booths exposed to weather (heat, sun, or rain).
• Fast-paced environment with long lines of visitors.
• Flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
